Johnson Brothers Announces 2013 Scholarship Fund Winners
Johnson Brothers Liquor Company has awarded 8 scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $8,000 each to students in its inaugural college scholarship fund.
Graduate of Alcester-Hudson High School
Maggie was active in numerous activities during high school and recently completed 10 weeks of basic training for the Army National Guard. In addition to her National Guard duties, Maggie is attending South Dakota State and planning to major in Consumer Affairs. Maggie’s parents own and operate Alcester Steakhouse in Alcester, South Dakota.
Graduate of Forest Lake High School
Jordan was a multi-sport player at Forest Lake High School including swimming, track & field & hockey. She is planning to attend the University of Minnesota this Fall with a concentration in Pre-Medicine. Jordan’s family operates Tobie’s Restaurant and Bakery in Hinckley, Minnesota.
Graduate of Century Hill School
Deanna is a member of the National Honor Society with an outstanding 4.0 GPA. She was active in Century’s tennis team and the Century Acapella School Choir as Co-director. She is attending the University of Minnesota this Fall. Deanna’s parents operate Apollo Liquors in Rochester, Minnesota.
Graduate of Springfield High School
Kasey is a member of the National Honor Society with a 3.8 GPA and served as captain for the Springfield High School basketball team, where she earned All-Conference Honors. She is attending Concordia College in Moorhead this Fall and will be a member of the Concordia Cobbers basketball team. Kasey’s parents operate Clay’s Drive-In Liquors in Springfield, Minnesota.
Graduate of Lincoln High School
Sam was a multi-sport player at Lincoln High School including basketball, cross country and tennis. He is planning to attend Northland Community and Technical College this Fall with a concentration in Teaching Secondary Education. Sam’s father manages Falls Liquor in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
Graduate of Bemidji High School
Seth maintained a 3.8 GPA while playing varsity soccer for Bemidji High School and volunteering as a youth soccer coach. In addition to his athletic endeavors, Seth earned the Top Business Student Award during his senior year. He is attending Bemidji State University. Seth’s parents work for VenuWorks/Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minnesota.
Graduate of Wayzata High School
Leah was a former softball player in Wayzata and volunteer at Golden Living Nursing Home. She plans to attend Normandale Community College and then on to the University of Minnesota for a degree in Hotel Management. Leah's father works for MGM in Woodbury, Minnesota.
Graduate of West Lyon Community School
Sara played basketball and softball all during high school before being sidelined with a knee injury. She plans to attend Southeast Technical Institute in the Fall working towards a Nursing degree in hopes of attaining a career in the Neonatal Intensive Care field. Sara's mother works for Sports Center Lounge in Larchwood, Iowa.
Johnson Brothers Announces 2014 Scholarship Fund
The Johnson Brothers Liquor Company Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to graduating high school seniors from Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota in order for them to continue their education at a college, university, or licensed trade or vocational school in the United States. Multiple scholarships are awarded annually. Scholarships for the 2014-2015 academic year will range from $5000 to $8000.
The program is now accepting applications for 2014 graduating students seeking a scholarship for the upcoming 2014-2015 school year.
Applications must be received by May 1, 2014.
